During the Spring/Summer of 2015, I ventured, film camera in hand, to work in the Abitibi-Temiscamingue and Northern region of Quebec on an independent film project. In the in-between moments, I had the opportunity to capture the daily life of the Algonquin people in their community of Lac-Simon. People, whose skins have hardened with time and by the harshness of the realities they face in daily life; isolation, judgment and lack of opportunity. I sought to capture their true essences, their beauty, their truth. I sought to expose it all, in hopes that they, too, could see the beauty I saw within them.
